Commission and Trade-Ready Resources

Is your business set up to attract international visitors?

While much of the focus for wineries is on intrastate and domestic tourism, attracting international visitors allows you to diversify your markets and create new avenues for business. Specific benefits of attracting international travellers include:

  • Mitigating seasonality problems given international travel patterns are not focused around weekends.
  • Minimising the impact of any changes in the domestic or a single international travel market by spreading risk across a range of international markets.
  • Opening up new forms of distribution, giving millions of potential travellers easy access to your product.
  • International travellers provide a higher yield and spend more on each trip than domestic travellers.
  • Booking lead times are usually longer, allowing for better business planning.
  • The ability to tie in wine exports to specific markets that are also willing to travel to Australia.
  • The opportunity to meet people from a range of cultures and backgrounds can be extremely rewarding and many life‑long friendships from around the globe can be established.
