Membership & Benefits

McLaren Vale Grape Wine & Tourism Association (MVGWTA) offers the following Industry Memberships:


GRAPE GROWER AND WINERY MEMBERSHIP

Membership for wineries and grape growers is paid through the Wine Industry Fund (WIF) Levy managed by Primary Industries Resources South Australia (PIRSA). The payment of annual WIF contributions automatically provides membership to the McLaren Vale Grape Wine & Tourism Association (MVGWTA). Further information on the wine industry funds with access to contribution forms can be found on the PIRSA Grape and Wine website.

TOURISM AND ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP

Tourism businesses within the McLaren Vale GI can become MVGWTA Members at any time of the year. An annual membership fee of $390.00 (inc. GST) is payable directly to MVGWTA for the current financial year; half yearly memberships are also available.

*Where a business, whose primary business necessitates payment of McLaren Vale WIF Contributions, seeks a secondary Tourism membership – the Association mandates that the WIF contributions must be paid in full prior to a secondary Membership being provided.



MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS:

All financial Members receive the following benefits (not exhaustive):

  • Strategic Direction:
    • Eligibility to vote in Annual General Meetings, and any matters requiring Member endorsement or votes
    • Eligibility to apply and be considered for the Board of MVGWTA
  • Marketing & Promotion:
    • Ability to participate in the Visiting Identities Program and Itinerary Development, encompassing in-bound visits by travel and lifestyle media and out-bound meetings with buyers to promote McLaren Vale’s wine tourism experiences
    • Invitations to support regionally branded domestic and international promotional opportunities such as virtual tastings
    • Digital promotion via the McLaren Vale website and social media channels
  • Capacity & Capability:
    • Ability to enter the Wine Show or James Halliday Grenache Challenge and ability to purchase tickets to the Bushing Lunch
    • Ability to attend various development workshops and seminars such as the Focus Vineyard Series, ‘How to Package Commissionable Product’ and Wine Tourism Committee monthly events
    • Ability to access Member resources such as numerous regional promotional materials, Tourism Visitation Dashboard, the McLaren Vale Weather Stations network, Grapevine Trunk Diseases research reports
    • Ability to participate in various partnerships and programs such as the Great Wine Capitals of the World Network, including the Best of Wine Tourism Awards
    • Ability to participate and contribute towards your region's development via MVGWTA's various Committees and Working Groups
  • Advocacy and Consultation:
    • Ability to attend consultations facilitated by MVGWTA on the region or a sector’s behalf with Minister’s and Stakeholders for matters relating to trade, water security, funding mechanisms and more
    • All Member communications such as the Weekly Bulletin, CropWatch, Wine Tourism News and Member Updates following discussions with Ministers
