Weather Stations

MVGWTA has installed nine weather stations on vineyards across 13sq kilometres of McLaren Vale. The project is a collaboration between MVGWTA and seven grower partners.

The purpose of the weather stations is to accurately measure and report on the key weather parameters which affect viticulture – temperature, rainfall, wind speed and wind direction.

The data collected is used to produce a viticultural advisory publication for McLaren Vale grape growers called CropWatch. CropWatch provides the region's growers with technical information on key viticultural issues such as pest and disease risk and management. The CropWatch e-newsletter is available to Financial Grower Members of MVGWTA.
