The Angove family’s McLaren Vale cellar door is nestled in the beautiful, organically certified Warboys Vineyard. Recently renovated, it offers visitors the breadth of Angove wines and St Agnes Distillery spirits for tasting and purchase, together with an exceptional seasonal food.

Due to the ongoing success of our cellar door, we are looking at enhancing our current team and seeking a friendly, positive, customer focused team player with a strong hospitality background to join us as a Food and Beverage Attendant.

The successful person will:

  • Conduct and deliver efficient and effective service of food and beverages
  • Be proficient in a la carte food service
  • Conduct tasting experiences with guest
  • Share knowledge of wine, spirits and seasonal food
  • Be a motivated team player with strong commitment to shared team goals and vision.

The successful applicant will hold a current RSA certificate and be computer literate.

Our cellar door is open 7 days per week including weekends and most public holidays. We are currently seeking applications from candidates with availability during these times for approximately 3 to 4 shifts per week.

The Cellar Door Supervisor at Shingleback will be responsible for promoting our brand and business by creating exceptional customer experiences for visitors and direct and ongoing customer relationships.

Here's a snapshot of the Cellar Door Supervisor responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate and share your passion and knowledge of wine to craft memorable customer experiences
  • Actively drive sales of the company's wine products in line with monthly and annual targets
  • Manage, coach and constantly develop the Cellar Door team to be motivated to deliver performance at the highest level
  • Participate in technical tastings representing a broad consumer perspective
  • Promote and sell Wine Club memberships
  • Handle and develop the customer and cellar door visitor databases
  • Manage and record all stock movements
  • Support our tourism strategy by liaising with tourism partners to plan group visits, cellar door tastings
  • Opening and closing duties of the venue
  • Take active responsibility with health and safety policies to implement control strategies to eliminate or minimise identified risks.

This is a great opportunity for someone with supervisory experience looking to make a move into Cellar Door Management with the support and mentorship of our leadership team

You:

  • Wine Knowledge, and WSET level 2 or higher
  • Office Administration Skills
  • Extensive knowledge of the wine industry
  • Team management experience (including identify and hiring of talent)
  • Strong customer focus, communication and leadership skills
  • Excellent communication skills and a drive for results
  • Availability to work weekends and public holidays.

Beach Road Wines based in McLaren Vale, is open 7 days/week, from 11am-4pm. Beach Road Wines is seeking an organised and motivated individual to join our team as our Venue Coordinator. The position as Venue Coordinator will be responsible with reporting to the Director/ Winemaker and General Manager to assist with the operations of our restaurant, assistance in events/functions and coordinate with our kitchen, wedding coordinator and cellar door team with delivering outstanding customer experience in food service, wine tastings and guest experiences.

The role will include supervision, training, motivation and co-ordination of food and beverage staff, stock control and inventory management, assistance with rosters, presentation of the venue and grounds, management of restaurant bookings, improve customer experiences, maintain relationships with tourism businesses and bodies, health and safety reporting requirements, food compliance, comply with all relevant policies and procedures and other duties as required or proposed to management.

Full-time (Part-Time opportunity is available), competitive salaried position based on experience, working on a range of weekdays, weekends, occasional nights and public holidays (but also recognising work/life balance)

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate operations of the venue, including opening and closing procedures and front of house procedures/training
  • Lead the front-of-house team, providing direction and assistance.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of the venue and grounds
  • Reporting to General Manager and Directors
  • Answer phones and attend to weekly administration and reservations.
  • Assistance with rosters
  • Oversee stock control and inventory management
  • Compliance with food, health and safety requirements, maintaining a safe environment for guests and staff

Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 3 years previous in the hospitality industry working as a supervisor or managerial position
  • Responsible Serving of Alcohol certificate (RSA) & RP Badge essential
  • First Aid certificate (ideal but not essential)
  • Previous experience with POS systems & booking systems
  • Great time management, communication and leadership skills to lead a team in a fast-paced environment
  • A mature, positive and professional attitude that leads by example
  • Reliable transportation

Our home

Firehawk Farm is home to Dandelion Vineyards in McLaren Vale. Our 60-acre property is

perched atop an ancient ridge overlooking McLaren Vale, the Willunga Escarpment and the

Gulf of St Vincent. Firehawk is our native bird of prey that soars over our vineyards acting as

scarecrows to other birds, rabbits and the like that eat ripening grapes. Below the surface there's

limestone, ironstone and the 40 acres under vine include, Grenache, Shiraz and Petite Sirah.

On May 19th, at this special place, we will be opening our Wonder Room to host and share

our whimsical stories and wines.

The role

We are looking for a passionate Sous chef to support our Executive chef in delivering unique

wine and food experiences at our Wonder Room. We have the rare opportunity to present

our unique concept to our guests from a stunning new open kitchen, overlooking the

spectacular Firehawk Farm vineyards and beyond. The successful chef will be familiar with

modern kitchen operations and food styling, approachable, easy going, clean and

professional. Relevant qualifications and experience in a premium setting are necessary.
