Background
The MVGWTA Board has a need to fill a current vacancy for an Independent Non-Executive Director, as well as create a short-list of potential future candidates for Independent Non-Executive Director positions.
Key Skills and Responsibilities
MVGWTA is seeking expressions of interest from experienced Independent Non-Executive Directors who have expertise in at least one of the following areas:
- Regional Brand development and marketing;
- Tourism development and marketing;
- Government and Public Sector relations;
Board experience, an understanding of Member-based organisations, an ability to contribute to strategy development, governance qualifications and/or completion of the AICD Company Director Course will be highly regarded. Wine industry expertise would be an advantage but not considered mandatory. All applicants should be based in South Australia.
The role of MVGWTA Non-Executive Directors is determined by the MVGWTA Constitution (sections 6 & 7), the MVGWTA Board Charter and Code of Conduct, and will cover:
- Providing leadership of the Association with a framework of prudent and effective controls to drive a strong and adaptable organisational culture;
- Setting the Association’s strategic aims, ensuring that the necessary resources are in place for the Association to meet its objectives, and reviewing management performance; and
- Setting the Association’s values and ensuring that its obligations to its stakeholders and others are understood and met, including a coordinated approach to long term strategic planning and sustainability.
Time Commitment
Board Meetings are held in-person six times per year, approximately every two months, during work hours. Board Meetings last 2-3 hours each. There is an expectation that Board Members will also attend key functions and events throughout the year.
Location
Board Meetings are primarily held in McLaren Vale, with the occasional strategic and or stakeholder forums held in Adelaide.
Remuneration
Board remuneration for all Directors has been provided for in the new constitution. A small fee is currently provided.

This role is for someone who loves people, wine and spending their workday surrounded by towering gums and the sound of birdsong. You’ll be exceptional at creating ongoing relationships with our new and long-time customers and be able to make all our guests feel like they’re a part of something special!
You’ll get the opportunity to feed and interact with the beautiful animals in our wildlife sanctuary, as well as host our guests, imparting knowledge about our wines and our beautiful corner of McLaren Vale.
This is a casual position for three days a week including one weekend day, with the opportunity for more for the right person.
Responsibilities of this role include
- Greeting guests and familiarising them with Woodstock’s food & wine offerings and experiences
- Hosting tastings and imparting knowledge about our wines, family history and region
- Hosting daily wildlife feeding sessions of our kangaroos and wallabies
- Educating guests about our Stocks Society wine club
- Ensure the tasting room and courtyard are maintained in a tidy, presentable manner
This role requires
- A current RSA certificate & hospitality or cellar door experience
- A warm and engaging customer service style
- A high standard of personal presentation
- A positive attitude and ability to work in a small team, taking initiative during quiet periods

Our ideal candidate is an experienced chef who:

About the role

Firehawk is the native bird of prey that soars over our vineyards acting as scarecrows to other birds, rabbits and the like that eat ripening grapes. The role

The Cellar Door manager role is a full-time permanent role and will require applicants to work weekends offering two weekdays off with a salary above $70,000/year for the right candidate.

Personality trumps all, specific wine experience isn’t essential but someone with hospitality/ tourism experience would be preferred.

Coriole Vineyards is a family-owned winery with 50 years of history, located in McLaren Vale, South Australia. Coriole has pioneered new grape varieties in Australia including sangiovese, fiano and piquepoul, whilst also producing McLaren Vale’s traditional varieties such as shiraz and grenache.
The role
Coriole is seeking a full-time Vineyard Operator to work with the Vineyard Manager and winery team to maintain and manage healthy, biodiverse, high-quality vineyards.
The role is Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 3:30pm.
