The Role

Are you passionate about wine, exceptional customer experiences, and team leadership? Mollydooker Wines is seeking a dedicated Cellar Door Coordinator to join our vibrant team. This role ensures every visitor enjoys a positive and memorable experience while supporting the growth and success of Mollydooker’s Cellar Door operations. Working closely with the Cellar Door Manager, you will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional customer service, supervising team members, and supporting events and sales.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership and Supervision: Lead and supervise Cellar Door team members, fostering a positive team culture through training, support, and mentorship. Ensure team compliance with company standards and safety protocols.
  • Operations Management: Oversee daily Cellar Door operations, including opening/closing procedures, daily checklists, team member breaks, and maintaining a high standard of presentation and cleanliness.
  • Customer Experience: Manage Cellar Door enquiries and bookings, deliver exceptional customer service, and handle complex customer interactions. Lead engaging wine tastings and winery tours.
  • Sales and Inventory: Support sales targets by upselling products and managing accurate stock levels, inventory processes, and promotional displays.
  • Administrative Duties: Reconcile daily takings, generate end-of-day reports, and ensure operational tasks are completed efficiently.
  • Event Support: Assist with event planning and execution, liaise with clients, and provide on-the-ground support for functions and events.
  • Collaboration and Projects: Work closely with the Cellar Door Manager on team scheduling, emerging projects, and improvements to processes. Share relevant information with the broader team to achieve business goals.
  • Safety and Compliance: Represent the Cellar Door in site safety initiatives and ensure compliance with safety and licensing requirements, including RSA standards.

Key Skills and Experience

  • At least 3 years’ experience in Cellar Door operations.
  • Proven ability to lead and supervise a team, with strong training and mentoring skills.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Mollydooker’s wines, stories, and key programs
  • Familiarity with Cellar Door SOPs and safe food handling practices.
  • Physical fitness for manual handling tasks and navigating the Cellar Door grounds.
  • Commitment to exceptional customer service and operational excellence.
