BEKKERS WINE - TASTING ROOM MANAGER

Tasting Room Manager

Company Description

Located in the heart of McLaren Vale, South Australia, Bekkers embodies a connection to nature and a passion for fine wine. With a reputation for crafting world-class wines, we aspire to be a hallmark for premium wine in our region. Bekkers is the culmination of the combined expertise of Emmanuelle and Toby Bekkers, and our wines are primarily sold directly to private clients. Our elegant Seaview Road Tasting Room serves as the gateway for delivering exceptional wine experiences.

The Role

We are seeking a hands-on Tasting Room Manager to lead our direct sales efforts and elevate the customer journey. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with a premium and renowned brand that values excellence in both wine and service.

As a key member of our team, you’ll oversee the day-to-day operation of our Tasting Room while shaping and executing strategies to grow our direct-to-consumer business. With a focus on customer engagement, you’ll enhance the visibility of our brand, increase visitation, and grow revenue.

In addition, you’ll take the lead in networking and fostering strong relationships within the wine industry and broader tourism networks. By collaborating with key stakeholders, you’ll help position Bekkers as a must-visit destination and expand our reach within the region and beyond.

You’ll work directly with the owners in a dynamic role that offers exposure to all aspects of a boutique, vineyard-to-glass family wine business.

We Offer:

  • A permanent position with an aspirational, well-regarded premium wine producer.
  • The opportunity to develop and expand your role.
  • A diverse work environment where you can engage with all facets of the wine production and sales process.
  • A competitive salary package reflective of your experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver exceptional guest experiences in the Bekkers Tasting Room and Clarendon Vineyard Estate.
  • Manage wine club and CRM databases to maintain and grow customer loyalty.
  • Strategically plan and implement wine club and e-commerce programs.
  • Handle the end-to-end process of direct-to-consumer orders, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Develop innovative strategies to increase visitation and e-commerce sales.
  • Craft engaging social media campaigns to elevate brand awareness.
  • Build and nurture relationships within the wine industry, regional tourism boards, and hospitality networks to drive tourism and business growth.
  • Represent the brand at regional and industry events to enhance visibility and create collaborative opportunities.
  • Ensure the Tasting Room reflects our brand values and provides an unmatched luxury experience.

Personal Requirements:

We’re looking for someone who brings:

  • A proven ability to provide exceptional customer service, ideally in a luxury or premium environment.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • A fun, engaging personality with a hands-on, proactive attitude.
  • Passion for wine and an ability to share this passion with diverse audiences.
  • Confidence and creativity to drive initiatives that enhance the customer experience.
  • The flexibility to work weekends and adapt to the business’s operational needs.
  • A demonstrated ability to network effectively and build strong relationships within the wine and tourism sectors.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in direct-to-consumer sales or customer engagement roles.
  • Skills in email marketing, social media management, and CRM platforms.
  • Experience managing a wine club or subscription service.
  • Current RSA certification.
  • Valid driver’s licence.

Desirable:

  • Wine-related qualifications (WSET Level 2 or higher).
  • Hands-on vineyard or cellar experience, or knowledge gained through wine travel.
  • Proficiency in Vinsight or Adobe Creative Cloud (or similar).
